Peter Snowden’s Obsequious has won the 2011 Light Fingers Stakes last Saturday February 12, 2011.
The Darley-owned filly won Race 6 at Randwick Racecourse on Royal Sovereign Stakes Day.
Obsequious added to her near perfect first up record with her win in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes.
Obsequious’ win in the 2011 Light Fingers Stakes has now lifted the three-year-old filly’s win percentage to 33%, winning three of her nine starts.
The Lonhro filly has now earned a staggering $362,550 in prize money and has now won both a Group 1 and a Group 2 race.
Obsequious’ stablemate Parables, who was $2.60 favourite at Luxbet to win the 2011 Light Fingers Stakes, finished third while Red Tracer finished second.
Parables jumped well from the barrier but had a tough run which saw her settle six lengths off the lead and powered home in the straight to finish a respectable third.
Despite boasting an excellent career performance so far, Obsequious did not have a very successful last preparation, which saw her finish last in the Macquarie Cup at Randwick in October.
Obsequious ran the 2011 Light Fingers Stakes in 1 minute and 9.50 seconds, a time that was only 0.05 seconds off the current race record.
Obsequious was ridden to victory by jockey Kerrin McEvoy, who rode two winning horses on the day.
