First Seal was a standout performer amongst her age bracket through the 2014 Spring Carnival, and as a result, has opened as clear $3.10 favourite in 2015 Light Fingers Stakes betting markets, ahead of Mossfun ($4), Winx ($6) and Memorial with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Can First Seal return to the races in the best way possible, or will one of her many classy rivals win the 2015 Light Fingers Stakes?

First Seal ($3.10)

Finishing outside the places just once over her six start career so far, First Seal is a proven first-up performer and a Group 1 winner, and is therefore more than worth consideration for a bet at current odds for 2015 Light Fingers Stakes success. Taking out a minor over 1100m upon resuming in spring, the daughter of Fastnet Rock ran second to Sweynesse in the TAB Early Quaddie 3.y.o (1400m) on August 30th before taking out the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) on September 20th. Breaking through for a maiden Group 1 victory in the Flight Stakes (1600m) on October 4th, First Seal placed second in the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) on October 11th and will take some beating this weekend.

Mossfun ($4)

The standout two-year-old over the 2014 Autumn Carnival, Mossfun was unlucky to miss the spring season with a host of unfortunate but minor ailments, and is reportedly in great condition ahead of her racing return this weekend. Taking out a minor sprint with ease on debut, Mossfun charged home to win the Group 3 Widden Stakes (1100m) in February; repeating the dose in the Group 2 Silver Slipper (1100m) on March 1st before suffering her first and only defeat to date when second to Earthquake in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) on March 22nd. Responding in the best way possible when taking out the major Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) on April 5th, the Mossman filly is a great chance of finishing in the top three in the Light Fingers Stakes.

Amicus ($15)

Talented filly Amicus has finishing outside the top three just once through her seven start career so far, and currently offers punters the best value for money in 2015 Light Fingers Stakes betting markets at a quote of $15 for success or $4.10 to finish in the places. Placing third in a minor over 1300m upon resuming in spring, Amicus continued to impress in running second in the Cove Hotel F 3.y.o (1400m) and Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) before breaking through for a maiden victory at the highest level in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) on October 11th. Trialling well in the lead-up to her return, Amicus will be partnered by leading jockey Hugh Bowman in the 2015 Light Fingers Stakes.
